On Saturday, June 17, 2000 Mikhail Goryn will be 70. Mikhail Goryn was born on June 17, 1930, in v. Kniselo, Lvivska obl. In 1965 he was arrested and in 1966 condemned to 6 years of imprisonment for the anti-Soviet propaganda, in 1967 - for 3 years more. After he became free he edited teh "Bulletin of Helsinki Group". In 1981 he was again arrested and sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment in the rough regime camps. In 1987 he is free and takes part in the foundation of Ukrainian Helsinki Union, National Rukh of Ukraine (NRU), Ukrainian Republican Party and other. In 1989-1999 - he is the Rukh's Head Secretary, 1991-1992 - the NRU first vice leader, from May 1, 2000 - Head of Ukrainian World Coordination Committee.
