Maundy Thursday

Lord of Zaporozhye and Melitopol Josep of Ukrainian Orthodox Church realizes a ceremony of priest foot washing in St. Andrew’s Cathedral in Zaporozhye, on Maundy Thursday, April 16, 2009. On Holy Thursday a Church mentions four events: Last Supper, washing the feet of the Apostles, Jesus’ prayer in Gethsemane and betrayal of Judas. The Last Supper is the final meal that Jesus shared with his Twelve Apostles in Jerusalem before his crucifixion. The Last Supper provides the scriptural basis for the Eucharist, also known as "communion" or "the Lord's Supper". There was a discussion between Jesus and the Apostles about seniority, and Jesus washed the feet of the Apostles to show the humility.
