Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Ivan Vasyunyk during a press conference concerning results of checking the preparation condition of Ukraine to 2012 Football Europe Championship in Kyiv, Wednesday, April 15, 2009. During the press conference the UEFA’s President said that European Football Union (UEFA) will define cities in Ukraine and Poland, where the matches Euro-2012 will take place, at the session of the Executive committee on May 13. He also noted that the session of the Executive committee of UEFA, where the final decision on receiving cities in Ukraine and Poland will be made, will take place in Bucharest, Romania on May 12-13. According to the President of UEFA, interests of fans will be taken into account as a main argument in the interest of this or that city. He also added that many things will depend on infrastructure state of the cities. The President of European Football Union noted that there are no doubts today that Euro-2012 will take place in Ukraine and Poland. He said that readiness of stadiums in Kyiv and Warsaw is an obligatory condition. He also hopes that reconstruction of “Olimpiyskyi” NSC will be finished in time and added: “If there is no stadium in Kyiv – there is no Euro in Ukraine”. Photo by Vladimir Gontar/UNIAN
