Aleksandr Polyak

Alexander Polyak, the new Zaporizhia Mayor, retired Mayor-General on the press-conference on Sunday, June 4, 2000, in Zaporizhia. The Mayor elections were conducted ahead of schedule, after the previous mayor Alexander Golovko left his position at his personal request. According to the local press, the day before the elections printed in thousands forged papers and leaflets, which blackened the candidates were scatters in the citizens' post-boxes and distributed just on the streets. The 12 candidates took part in the elections. Practically all the perspective candidates, including Polyak, brought an action in the Court, requiring to find out, who initiated the provocation.
