Catholic palm Sunday

Palm Sunday - the holiday of the God's entrance to Jerusalem - is celebrated a week before Easter, on the 6th Sunday of Lent. On the basis of the holiday is a gospel parable about how Jesus before the death of a martyr and rising from the dead came to Jerusalem. People greeted him as a tsar - covering his way with palm branches. This holiday symbolizes, from one side, recognition of a mission of Christ, and from other side - entrance of human son to Paradise. In some countries religious use pussy-willow branches instead of palm branches. Photo by Gontar Vladimir /UNIAN
