The UNIAN Archive. The Krasnyi Gorodok-dweller (10 km far from the Chernobyl APS) looks at the fire in the field on April 23, 1996. The Informational Crisis Center of the Ministry of Ecology of Ukraine deprived the rumor, concerning the incident, which as if occurred on these days on the Chernobyl APS. The Center collaborators assume, that the rumor was caused by the fires which took place in the forests of Kyivska obl, in particular, in t. Slavutich (50km far from Chernobyl APS), where the personnel of the station lives. According to the information of the Ministry of Extraordinary Affairs of Belarus, for the May 15 the fire enveloped some 600 hectares of peatbogs near the t. Zhitkovichi, Gomelska Obl., t. Slutsk and t. Soligorsk, Minskaya obl.. Photo by /UNIAN
