Anastasiya Baburova’s funerals

Anastasia Baburova's funeral service in Sevastopol, Monday, January 26, 2009. Anastasia Baburova was the 25-year-old journalist from "Novaya gazeta" and was killed as she tried to defend Stanislav Markelov, a human rights lawyer, when a masked gunman shot him in Moscow this week. Stanislav Markelov was the lawyer of the family of Chechen girl Kheda Kungaeva, who was raped and killed in March 2000. Colonel Yuri Budanov was sentenced for the murder. He was released early on 15 January 2009 despite the appeal filed by Stanislav Markelov.
