According to the results of all-Ukrainian sociological research “Social protection of Ukrainians” carried out by Gorshenin’s Institute within the frameworks of “Project of the Country” annual research program from November 25 - to December 5, 2008 in 160 settlements of Ukraine, more than two thirds of Ukrainians are dissatisfied with existing system of provision of pensions. Some 39.5% of respondents, estimating this system, said that it is unsatisfactory, some 26% of those polled said that it is completely unsatisfactory. Some 2.5% of Ukrainians believe that the system of provision of pensions is completely satisfactory and some 18.2% of those polled believe that this system is rather satisfactory than not. More than two thirds of Ukrainians believe that it is necessary to reform the system of provision of pensions. Some 7% of those polled are against this reform. Some 60.6% of those polled expects that the pensionary reform will change principles of the state pension's calculation.
