Evgeny Bernstam, right, the first vice Chairman of the Alfa-bank and Valeryi Nilov, the Chairman of the Supervising Council of the Kyivinvest Bank on the press-conference in UNIAN agency on Monday, March 27, 2000. On March 27 the Alfa-Bank and Kyivinvestbank representatives informed that Alfa-Bank, is among the 5 largest Russian banks. The A.B. is intended to take active part in the development of Ukrainian Banking business. On the same day the "Kyivinvestbank"'s shareholders meeting passed a decision that the A.B. will become the shareholder, by means of purchasing the considerable part of the new emission shares, as well as by means of entering the AB representatives in the Supervising Council. In outlook the Kyivinvestbank will be renamed in Alfa-Bank-Ukraine. The final aim of the subsequent reorganizations will be the establishment in Ukraine the financial "supermarket" in accordance with the conception of the "Affa-Group" consortium.
