Tank БМ «Bulat»

Workers at Malishev’s Plant prepare a new BM "Bulat" tank in Kharkov, Thursday, November 28, 2008. Main characteristics of the upgraded BM Bulat Tank are: crew 3, combat weight 45t, gun caliber 125mm, coaxial machine gun caliber 7.62mm, anti-aircraft machine gun caliber 12.7mm. Increase of protection level is ensured by means of installation of an additional protection package on the hull and turret of the tank. In order to increase mobility, the vehicle is fitted with an enhanced power pack. The new power pack contains a 850 hp 5TDFM engine, which is a forced version of the 5TDF engine with power output being increased and operating temperature range being (degrees) -40 to +55. When modernised, the armament-and-fire control system of the BM BULAT MBT has better characteristics than the armament-and-fire control system of the T-80UD MBT. Photo by Andreev Vladimir / UNIAN
