The eighth Festival of New British Cinema has started in Kiev today with a number of films to be shown on the big screen for the first time in Ukraine. The first is “Filth and Wisdom,” directed by Madonna and starring musician Eugene Hutz, an ex-Kyivan now in New York. Other films are “It’s a Free World” by the classics of social cinema, Ken Loach, “Bigga Than Ben” by Suzie Halewood, “Nightwatching” by Peter Greenaway, “Genova” by Michael Winterbottom, “French Film” by Jackie Oudney and drama “Flashbacks of a Fool,” starring Daniel Craig, which will open the festival.
