Milolaev-based Alumina Factory
The UNIAN Archive. The workers clean the territory of Milolaev-based Alumina Factory (MAF), the first-rate supplier of the raw materials for the aluminum production in the CIS countries. The planned production capacity makes up 1 million tons of alumina per year. The plant was built in 1980 for raw materials supplying to the Siberian aluminum producing factories. According to the Western experts' data, the MAF price makes up $1 billion. Today 55% of the factory shares are the privacy of the State. For several years the Transnational Corporation 'Trans World Group' as well as tghe Russian Corporation "Siberian Alumina" pretend to control the MAF. The MAF profit for January, 2000 makes up $5 millions. The State Property Fund declared that it is planned the contest sale of the MAF 30% of shares. According to the UNIAN agency information, the declaration of the aforesaid sale for the price of $19 millions, shows that the Government "is ready to sell dirt-cheap the share holding to "Siberian Alumina"".
