Two engineer operators carry out preparation tests on the third bloc of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in Chernobyl, Ukraine, on Tuesday, November 23, 1999. The only operating reactor at the Chernobyl plant, site of the world's worst nuclear accident in 1986, was shut down for scheduled repairs on July 1. The Chernobyl plant is expected to be re-started in the nearest days in case no defects are discovered.
