Anatoly Lupynis

The UNIAN Archive. Anatoly Lupynis, the Chairman of the Political Council of the Ukrainian National Assembly died on February 4 evening, 2000. Anatoly Lupynis was born on July 21, 1937. In October of 1956 he, the third year student of the Mechanic - mathematics faculty of the Kyiv University was arrested and sentenced for 6 years of imprisonment. The next year he took part in the strike and was sentenced for 10 years of imprisonment, according to the articles "Anti-Soviet Agitation and Propaganda"", "Counter-Revolution Sabotage". He was freed in 1967 with the paralyzed feet. In May of 1971 was seized and imprisoned for 12 years for the speech, which he made at the monument to Shevchenko.
