The deputies of the Progressive Socialist Party of Ukraine

From the left to the right: Natalya Lymar, Lyudmila Bezuglaya, Petr Romanchuk, the deputies of the Progressive Socialist Party of Ukraine, who went on a hunger-strike in the Ukrainian VR House, on February 2, 2000. On February 2, 2000 in the VR foyer appeared scores of military men, who blocked all the exits and entrances in the house. Later on the group of 50 deputies tried to make their way to the exit, but they where stopped by security service. The deputies called the representative of the commandant's office, who informed them that he fulfills the VR Leadership's instructions. The PSPU Fraction was gone on a hunger-strike as a token of protest against the actions of the Parliamentary Minority and refused to leave the Hall. Photo by UNIAN
