Igor Bakay

COMM UNIAN ARCHIVE Former director of the State supervision of Ukrainian President’s Affairs, former president of the company “Neftegas Ukrainy” Igor Bakay. Ukrainian Ministry of the Interior made a request to the Office on Struggle with Organized Crime of Commonwealth of Independent States and Russia to return Bakay to Ukraine. He is accused for exceeding his authority leading to severe consequences according to p.3 article 356 and as an organizer of crimes according to p. 3 article 27 of Ukrainian criminal code. Ukrainian Minister of the Interior Yury Lutsenko informed that Bakay was detached on June 28, 2005, in Moscow at 18:00 by Russian law machinery and then released at 22:00 without any explanations. Before releasing Bakay was given Russian passport. Ukrainian Ministry of the Interior addressed a letter to Russian Ministry of the Interior with a request to give explanations concerning this case.
