Karpars Tsipruss, №9 left, the player of the Riga's Basketball Club "ASK Brotseni LMT" tries to prevent the Kyiv's Galekin (№12) from attacking the Brotsena's basket during the First Northern-European Basketball League (NEBL) Championship (first round) ij Kyiv, Friday , 7, 2000. The game finished by the victory of the Kyiv's Club 97:77. The League's final will took place on April 15-16, 2000. The NEBL was founded in 1999 by Sharunas Marchulenis, the famous Lithuanian basketball-player. The sport clubs from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Sweden and Finland took part in the NEBL foundation, aimed at establishing the League like NBA. Russia, Denmark, Ukraine and Germany will join NEBL this year.
