Presentation of casual look garment of Ukraine national team at Olympic Games
Sergey Bubka, Olympic Champion and President of the National Olympic Committee (background, centre), Oleg Emshanov, General Director of the Delta Sport Company (backgound left), and Myroslav Dutchak, Deputy Minister of Ukraine for Family, Youth and Sport (background right) in Kiev, on Wednesday, 16 July 2008, during the presentation of the Ukrainian Olympic Team’s new uniform created for the XXIX Summer Olympics. A special technology was applied in the garment for the Ukrainian athletes, when side seams are moved on the back. This makes the uniform more streamlined. The garment is thermoregulated due to knitted mesh fabric on the body parts with high perspiration. The clothes are made from the low resistance fabric, which allows an athlete to win about 0.02 sec on 100 meters. The technology applied in sprint shoes of Ukrainian athletes allowed to decrease their weight down to 93 gramms. Each member of the National Olympic Team of Ukraine will get a set of over 20 various items, while certain athletes will also have special pieces of clothing for the competition. The Summer Olympics 2008 will take place in Beijing (China) from August, 8 to August, 24, 2008. Photo by Vladimir Tokarets / UNIAN.
