Poachers traps dismantling

One of activists of All-Ukrainian Charitable Fund "Fishermen Union of Ukraine" dismantling a poaching trap on Ros river, at the territory of Luki village (the Kanev region, the Cherkassy Oblast), on Wednesday, July 9, 2008. From July 10, All-Ukrainian Charitable Fund “Fishermen of Ukraine Union” and ecological organizations at Dnipro river, Dnestr rive and at Kanev storage pond carry out raids on poachers. The goal of the raids – is a confiscation of catch of fish and poaching equipment. Activists of union dismantled 17 –traps – “spiders” that day. “Fishermen of Ukraine Union” act over all territory of Ukraine. The main goal of the Fund is carrying out of the charitable activity directed to popularization and development in Ukraine amateur and sporting fishing and fishing tourisms, support of development of environmental protection , giving help to scientific institutions in fishing sphere. 15 thousand fishing poachers were detained in 1966, near 30 thousand poachers were detained in 1975, and more than 96 thousand poachers were detained in 2007.
