Vladimir Yashenko

Vladimir Yashenko, the student of the Kyiv Physical Culture Institute, the European Champion and the World High Jump record-holder (1978) on the coaching together with his trainer in Kyiv in 1978. On Tuesday, November 30, 1999 Vladimir Yashenko, 41, died in Zaporozhia. His death was caused by the liver cirrhosis and alcoholic intoxication. The sport career of the former world champion finished in 1980 - then owing to the serious trauma he did not take part in the Moscow Olympic Games.
