Taras Chornovil

Taras, left, the son of Vyacheslav Chernivol, the leader of the National Rukh of Ukraine prays at the just consecrated Cossack Cross, fixed on the place of his father's death on the Borispol-Zolotonosha highway on Monday, October 18, 1999. On that day the cross, fixed on the burial mound, was consecrated. The burial mound was for the first time raised in the modern Ukrainian history according to the Cossack traditions. The NRU members poured in the handfuls of ground, brought from the all over Ukraine. Besides Taras Chernovol, the Hierarchs of Ukrainian Church, Gennady Udovenko, the leader of the NRU, Victor Pinzenik, the head of the "Reforms and Order" Party and others took part in the ceremony.
