Viktor Yushchenko
COMM Newly-elected President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko, right, raises over his head the hetman’s mace presented him by representatives of Ukrainian Cossacks, at the meeting devoted to the Day of Unification of Ukraine on Saturday, January 22, 2005. After taking the mace Yushchenko read out the hetman oath, then Cossacks sang “Mnogaya leta” with Yushchenko and his retinues. At the meeting Yushchenko congratulated Ukrainian Cossacks with the Day of Unification of Ukraine.
