Dismantling of the monument to Lenin

The UNIAN Archive. Dismantling of the monument to Lenin on the October Revolution square in the Kyiv center in August of 1991. The dismantling was carried out after the August's putsch of 1991 in Moscow and introduction of Ukrainian Independence. The models of the monument to Independence were demonstrated near the empty pedestal, left after the Lenin's monument dismantling on Wednesday , June 28, 2000. One of the models will be fixed on the empty pedestal. The opening of the monument is planned in 2001. Photo by UNIAN
