The UNIAN Archive. Alexander Zhovtis, the national deputy. The session on the suit of the defense of honour and dignity, claimed by A. Zhovtis against the Ukrainian National TV-Company (NTVC), took place in the Kyiv-based Shevchenkovsky Regional Court. The suit was caused by the topic of the TV-program "Dosye", dedicated to the problems around the Nikolaev-based alumina factory. According to the TV-program, A. Zhovtis was a business partner of the aforesaid factory in 1994-1995. Besides, there was information that the Council of Ministers prepared the resolution project, concerning the assignation of 55% factory shares to the JV 'Iren' top-management. Alexander Zhovtis had been the Chief director of JV 'Iren', before he was elected to the Parliament. After Zhovtis had been elected for the deputy, his wife started to manage the Corporation. The sum of the claimed suit makes up Hr.10 millions. It makes up the substantial part of NTVC budget. The next sitting of the court will take place on the 30th of June, 1999.
