Vasily Onopenko, the leader of the Ukrainian Social-Democratic Party, the national deputy, the candidate for the President declared on the press-conference on Monday August 9, 1999, that he will obtain the discharge of Ryabets. He also declared, that: "the man, who is exposed by the outside pressure, has no right to head the Central Election Committee in such a responsible time for the State, as the Presidential Campaign". However Onopenko did not explain, how Ryasbets should be recalled. According to Onopenko "the honest and fair man" must send in his resignation, realizing, what kind of infringements had the Central Election Committee done in the course of checking up the signature lists and passing the illegal decisions on the non-registering of some candidates.
