Marathon of invalids on Independent`s day
The sportsman in the invalid carriage takes part in the marathon, dedicated to the Day of Independence of Ukraine (August 24, 1999). The heat for the half-marathon distance of 21 km, in which everybody could take part, took place on the chief Kyiv-based street, Khreshatic, in honor of the 8th Independence Anniversary. The sportsmen-invalids took part in the competition as it was in the previous years. The total number of participants exceeded 500 man.
